Judy Schmidt, Executive Coach in Extraordinary Leadership, authenticity, stand out

Do you ever get tired of hearing and reading about what you should do or how you should be if you want to be a great leader or a successful professional?  While I don't disagree with this advice, I believe that if you focus on being authentic, and doing what comes most naturally to you, you will have the greatest meaningful success.  After all, it's hard work being someone you're not.

There has been a lot of talk about being authentic and while it tends to be something everyone believes is vital, it's not always clear what this means or looks like on a day by day basis.  I know I'm still working it out in my professional life.

The sticky note is easy to understand though.  If you are being authentic; an authentic leader, an authentic friend, an authentic parent, you won't always fit in AND you will stand out. And you will have an impact.  One that you can be proud of. One that is meaningful to you.  This is success.
